Manager – Anastasia and Katie’s Coffee Shop & Cafe
Christina is proud to serve as a manager for Anastasia and Katie’s Coffee Shop & Cafe. Her experience includes working as a direct care worker and manager for group and self-determined homes for almost 8 years. For the last four years she has been working full time with an individual with a developmental disability. As Christina has helped this individual gain and maintain her independence, they have struggled to accomplish the goal of finding meaningful employment.
Through her work and personal experience – which includes watching her young nephew with Down syndrome grow – she has witnessed firsthand the challenges for acceptance faced by those within the disability community. This drives her to promote change to help create a better world for her nephew and the people she works with in the past, present and future.
Christina strongly believes that providing inclusive experiences is the path to dignity and respect. She is grateful for this opportunity to be an influential advocate for people of different abilities.
In her personal time Christina has enjoyed volunteering with the DAC (Dad’s Athletic Club), church events and fundraisers. She enjoys the outdoors, time with family and friends, and Netflix. She has always had a passion for music, singing and dancing and enjoys attending ARC dances. Through her personal experiences she has enlightened and inspired others to be advocates as well. Christina is the proud mother of four smart, beautiful daughters and believes it is important to teach them that we should be the change we wish to see in the world. She has instilled this in their upbringing as they too are active outspoken advocates of others. Her faith in God gives her the strength to remain steadfast in what she believes in.
A favorite quote of hers is “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” MLK JR.
