Voshon Moore currently works at Anastasia and Katie’s Coffee Shop & Cafe where he takes orders and serves customers with his contagious smile. Voshon is known for being funny, smart and motivated and it shines through every day while he is on the job.

Prior to working at the coffee shop, Voshon volunteered at the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum where he gave guided tours of the museum for groups of people. He also worked a summer job at TJ Maxx stocking merchandise. The job he enjoyed most was Meals on Wheels because he always looked forward to talking to the people he delivered the food to.

From his work experience, Voshon has obtained skills in food handling, retail and people skills. These skills helped him as an employment ambassador for Mi Work Matters. His favorite thing about being an ambassador is being able to give presentations on the benefits of hiring people with Down Syndrome to an audience.

When Voshon is not working he enjoys dancing along to music such as Hip Hop and R&B, working out and acting. He has been featured in three commercials including a Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council TV commercial that promotes inclusion in the workplace.

Voshon currently resides in Southfield, Michigan, where he attends the Next Step Transition program and is a member of the Southfield’s Special Olympic Team. After he graduates from the program, Voshon’s hope is to work in the culinary arts field so he can live out his dream of becoming a chef or host for a nice restaurant.
