Nicole O’Dea
Board Member
Nicole is the Chief Financial Officer at the 36th District Court; the largest district court in the State of Michigan and third largest in the country. She has over 25 years experience in accounting and finance and is particularly focused on the areas of budgeting and financial statement review.
With her children grown, Nicole decided to utilize her spare time focusing on ways to volunteer. She learned about MWM through a friend whose son has Downs Syndrome and became increasingly interested in volunteering as Treasurer for them. After learning about everything Mi Work Matters does, and hopes to do in the future, Nicole sees all the opportunities that can exist for individuals with disabilities if they are given adequate tools and training. She hopes her efforts can assist in some small way with helping people receive those opportunities.
Nicole received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and an MBA in Leadership Studies, both from Madonna University. In addition to her work for MWM, Nicole serves as a City Council Member in Wixom, a trained volunteer for Angela Hospice, and an ongoing volunteer at St. Edith Church in Livonia, where she’s been a member since childhood.
In addition to her professional work and volunteering, Nicole most enjoys spending time with her husband and three adult children. She enjoys traveling, fitness, boating and reading.
